TRUSTING GOD

May 7, 2026

Trust means to put one's confidence in a person or thing. God's name and His Word are worthy of our trust, and we should place our ultimate trust and confidence in Him (Bible Dictionary). The word "trust" appears approximately 134 times in the King James Version of the Bible.

Putting your trust in man can fail you (I'm not saying that you don't have people out there you can trust- of course, especially those who are in relationships and married), but when you put God, our Father, above all, He never fails. He never leaves you hanging or gives you second thoughts. He is absolutely loyal to His Word.

For my married couples out there, you made vows to your spouse on your wedding day, basically saying that you will be loyal in the marriage and that you can trust each other. Now let's say a small mishap happens where your spouse watches a movie that you both planned to watch later that night as a date night. Now, you lose a bit of trust because they watched a movie behind your back.

You see, this is not the same with God. You can trust God with all your heart, and He will not break it. What He says in His Word, He will bring it to pass.

Look at Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 17:15-19). God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. Did Abraham and Sarah have a son at that time for the promise to be fulfilled? No. Did they doubt God? Yes! They did! They were like, "God, where the son at, bruh?"

But God said "Don't worry about that, I will open Sarah's womb, and she will bear a son. Just TRUST ME." Don't go ahead of God or decide that you're going to help Him fulfill His promise. To be real with you, He doesn't need your help -He just needs you to trust Him.

"God needs us to trust Him, but He does not trust humans"- Prophet Shambraé Gamble

Trust God with your whole heart.  He keeps His promises.

Prayer

Lord, You are awesome and marvelous; there is no one like You.

Father, as I lift up Your children who are reading this, help us, O God, to trust You no matter what our circumstances may be. We know that at times we fail to see the promises You have made to us because our failures and sin tend to get in the way, placing scales over our eyes so we cannot clearly see Your promises—that You will never forget us, Your sons and daughters, whom You love so much.

My Father, in the same way You remembered the Israelites and fulfilled Your promises to them, give us the faith to trust You more, knowing that You will do the same for us, for we are no different.

Joshua 21:45 — “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
