Who am I? What is my purpose here on Earth?

These are some of the thoughts that come across one's mind when they are stuck in their past and can't seem to understand that there is a future with them in it—and that future is bright.

Today, we are going to look briefly at the topic “Scaly Eyes.”

I was meditating one night when these words came to me: “We are blinded by our past mistakes that we can't seem to see a bright future ahead of us.”

We know the Scripture: “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” — Psalm 51:5

So, sin is something that will always be a part of us, but how we get past it is a big thing that many Christians can't seem to understand.

Many young Christians across the world today struggle with sexual sin in one way or another. Pornography is a worldwide issue that many face, and once you are in it, it takes strength, discipline, and prayer to get out of it. Young Christians, and even Christians in the Church as a whole, have faced and are currently facing this a lot.

The thoughts that come with it can cause scales to cover their eyes: I am alone. No one will ever understand what I am going through. I am going to be judged if I speak about this. God doesn't hear my prayers.

I can recall when I was in this very situation. I called a church sister to speak with her because I wanted to get the help that I needed. Her remarks were, “Do you have the Holy Ghost? Read Philippians 4:8.”

I felt judged and not heard, so I started to keep everything in. And there, the scales began to cover my eyes.

Negative thoughts entered my mind.

We need to understand that there is more to overcoming sin than just looking at the spiritual aspect. How we speak to people and who we speak to are very important.

If the sister had done something totally different and just interceded for me instead of judging me, things would have been different.

Those thoughts can cause a scale to be over their eyes, where they can't seem to get past the sexual sin but rather remain stuck in it.

I am here to say: You are not alone, and it is time to get up out of your sin and wipe those scales off your eyes. As a matter of fact, allow God to remove those scales from your eyes.

Stop holding on to something that is not from God and that allows you to have a great dark cloud over your head.

Don't be a meal to the enemy!

We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. — Romans 3:23

But being stuck in sin and allowing scales to cover your eyes, blinding you from your future, was never God's option for you.

So, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, whatever scales (sin) are covering your eyes today and stopping you from seeing the future that God has for you and the purpose He has for you, let my Father in Heaven wipe them away so that you can see His glory and the amazing things He has in store for you.
