Impurity Vs Purity (Which One Are You In?)

Impurity is being contaminated or defiled, while Purity is the complete opposite- it means being free from any contamination; to be clean.

IMPURITY- LINGERING IN SIN

Sin is an impurity that keeps you away from God and His love.

Let's go deeper.

Many of us Christians are impure in our hearts and minds because we are not real with God-even though He already knows what we did in the past and what we are doing presently in His sight.

Sex, alcohol, drugs, and even pornography (which many Christians struggle with) are all forms of impurity in the body of Christ. We tend to cover it up and become pretenders- acting as if everything is good, thinking no one will know what was done last night, not even God.

But truth be told, God sees everything. He even saw you going out late at night after church to have sex, watching pornography while everyone else is sleeping, or stopping at the bar to drink beer and Heineken, leaving smelling like rum.

Then you wonder why you are stuck in a cycle and cannot be delivered. It is because you believe God does not see what you are doing, and you do not come to Him to confess your sins. Instead, you linger in them.

Ephesians 5:3 (NIV)

"But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people."

PURITY-FREEDOM FROM SIN

Purity is where God's love finds you in your sins and desires to make you clean by washing them away with His Love.

Christ came and died for our sins. He paid the cost so that we can come to Him freely and boldly to confess our sins. That is ALL He asks from us- confession and an intimate relationship with Him. Find Christ when you fall. We all sin and fall short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). But when we do falter, He wants us to Find Him, Talk to Him about everything, and Leave it ALL at His feet instead of being pretenders.

God is not human to hold our sins against us. As a matter of fact, He is a gentleman-waiting for us to sit with Him and tell Him  what our day was like.

Psalm 32:1

"Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered."

I am Free from sin because Christ has forgiven me. You can be Free from sin also. Just boldly come to Him and ask Him to Purify you- to make you clean again through repentance (A change of heart and turning away from old ways).

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

You see our hearts and minds, and You know our every deed. Lord, You are great, and there is no one else like You. Blessed are You and all Your heavenly hosts.

Father, as I bring Your children before Your feet, I ask that You forgive Your sons and daughters and have mercy upon them. Help them to see that You love them so much and that You will never allow their past to determine their destiny. Help them, O Father, to overcome any impurity with which they are struggling right now.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
